it’s not a Frank Lloyd Wright house. the guy who designed it lives there.
Livezey sits in the sun all day and it’s quite normal to have your shirt off in the middle of the winter.

What a great gear review. While this tent has won several awards from industry magazines and it can usually be picked up at a great price I have been a little bit skeptical of buying the for personal use. I have three young boys and wanted to introduce them to backpacking with a few short adventures far enough to get them away from any road. They’re young so I would be the pack mule and they would occupy space in the tent. It looks like we will fit just fine and I won’t have to pack any extra pounds in doing it.

Just purchased the Losi 2p. Looked at the 3p but discovered that my fire redbag fits snugly under a 2p vestibule, leaving me with plenty of space inside. Will use this tent during summer wildland fire assignments across the country. Impressed with the quick set-up, take down, and overall quality. Interested to see how it handles midwest humidity, western dust, and early season snow in the northwest. Interested to see how sturdy this tent really is; can the zippers and mesh hold up, and will it survive occasional high winds?

quick rectification on my post above. Dismantled the tent today and discovered that a small feline must have thought it cool to chill out in the space between the fly and the mesh near the apex, and of course used claws to get up and down from there. I thought it was strange to see all these holes so quickly. The clue was some almost invisible fluff and almost invisible white hairs, invisible looking up but quite visible as we took the tent down. Got some patching to do…

Nice article. I’ve got a 2010 Losi 3 man and I’m 6″2. I fit fine, the tent is slightly off square so I sleep the long way to make sure I have room. Kristof, someone 6″5 would still be fine I’d think. Great tent, sets up exactly as described but for some really bizarre reason the mesh has started to develop tiny holes, and I mean everywhere, and virtually overnight. This after 30 nights of use. Nemo is taking a while to come back to me on it. Because of this I really could not recommend this tent. That mesh should be much tougher. My kids and I camp in heavy insect territory and it’s nerve racking to see quite large holes, with new ones forming every night (the mesh is under quite high tension) while the insects buzz around under the fly. I need, like, 30 patches!

Great review and responses to the comments, I lke your work
I just wanted to ask, i’m 6’5, do you think I would fit with a sleeping bag inside comfortably? I also considered a 96” long tent, but it doesn’t have such vertical walls as this one. What do you think?
Any problems with the tent so far?
